Summary

The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake is the runaway TikTok must-read fantasy novel of the year。 If you loved Ninth House and A Deadly Education, you’ll love this。

Originally a self-published sensation, this edition has been fully edited and revised, including gorgeous new illustrations。

Secrets。 Betrayal。 Seduction。
Welcome to the Alexandrian Society。

When the world’s best magicians are offered an extraordinary opportunity, saying yes is easy。 Each could join the secretive Alexandrian Society, whose custodians guard lost knowledge from ancient civilizations。 Their members enjoy a lifetime of power and prestige。 Yet each decade, only six practitioners are invited – to fill five places。

Contenders Libby Rhodes and Nico de Varona are inseparable enemies, cosmologists who can control matter with their minds。 Parisa Kamali is a telepath, who sees the mind’s deepest secrets。 Reina Mori is a naturalist who can perceive and understand the flow of life itself。 And Callum Nova is an empath, who can manipulate the desires of others。 Finally there’s Tristan Caine, whose powers mystify even himself。

Following recruitment by the mysterious Atlas Blakely, they travel to the Society’s London headquarters。 Here, each must study and innovate within esoteric subject areas。 And if they can prove themselves, over the course of a year, they’ll survive。 Most of them。

i really enjoyed the immersive experience of this world and fell in love with these characters 💛 this book speaks a lot about the fragility of humanity and our relationship with the world and with each other。 you can see it in the overarching story but also in the ways in which the characters use and mistrust one another。 they had the unique ability to see each other better than they saw themselves while simultaneously dealing with their flaws。 ultimately i think my inability to give this 5 star i really enjoyed the immersive experience of this world and fell in love with these characters 💛 this book speaks a lot about the fragility of humanity and our relationship with the world and with each other。 you can see it in the overarching story but also in the ways in which the characters use and mistrust one another。 they had the unique ability to see each other better than they saw themselves while simultaneously dealing with their flaws。 ultimately i think my inability to give this 5 stars stems from the difficulty to read at times (a lot of complex info in short periods of time while juggling a switch between 6 different perspectives)- but mostly from the lack of relationship building。 we only really saw what did occur from an outside lens and only one relationship seemed to evolve in any meaningful way。 being the reader than i am, i need more of that connect。 hopefully we can see more character development in the second book now that the world and plot is built。 but i did really love this story 🥰 。。。more

4。5 - it was a really good read。 It was dark, it was clever, it was mysterious。 Almost everything I need in a dark academia kind of book。Quote: “You are entering the cycle of your own destruction, the wheel of your own fortune, which will rise and fall and so will you。 […] Rome falls, […] Everything collapses。 You will, too。 You will, soon。”

In this Harry Potter meets Hunger Games (kinda) book, the story jumps from viewpoint to viewpoint。 I didn't find this a challenge but be forewarned。 A fantasy/magic backdrop and lots of interesting characters。 Looking forward to the sequel。 In this Harry Potter meets Hunger Games (kinda) book, the story jumps from viewpoint to viewpoint。 I didn't find this a challenge but be forewarned。 A fantasy/magic backdrop and lots of interesting characters。 Looking forward to the sequel。 。。。more

Finished the audiobook and enjoyed it for the most part except I think the characters should've been fleshed out a bit more as I didn't feel as invested in them。 I also felt like some of the decisions they made didn't quite fit their personalities。 But, other than that I still enjoyed it for the most part and I'm still interested in the follow up and hopefully there is better character development。 Finished the audiobook and enjoyed it for the most part except I think the characters should've been fleshed out a bit more as I didn't feel as invested in them。 I also felt like some of the decisions they made didn't quite fit their personalities。 But, other than that I still enjoyed it for the most part and I'm still interested in the follow up and hopefully there is better character development。 。。。more

DNF - I just couldn't waste any more of my life on a character driven novel, full of characters with no, well, character。 There was just no story。 We are told things happen, but we never get to see it。 The characters all hate each other。 They throw an idea around for a few sentences, and it is never heard of again。 Nothing is explained。 It's just a slog。 This book could be such more, there is a fantastic idea here that just needs fleshing out。 There are a couple of stand out sequences that, had DNF - I just couldn't waste any more of my life on a character driven novel, full of characters with no, well, character。 There was just no story。 We are told things happen, but we never get to see it。 The characters all hate each other。 They throw an idea around for a few sentences, and it is never heard of again。 Nothing is explained。 It's just a slog。 This book could be such more, there is a fantastic idea here that just needs fleshing out。 There are a couple of stand out sequences that, had that pace and engagement been kept up, would have lead into something truly great。 Shame。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 So I rated this book a 5 star coz it honestly is amazing。 Like truly amazing。 But still, I feel like something was missing。 Even tho absolutely nothing was😂 There was romance, magic and mystery。 It was a perfect mix and blend of it all。 At first I thought it was gonna be an enemies to lovers with Nico and Libby。 However, it turned out that it would be Tristan and Libby。 I wasn’t expecting it at first。 Until he held her up after they beat the other medians and assassins。 But idm them together。 At So I rated this book a 5 star coz it honestly is amazing。 Like truly amazing。 But still, I feel like something was missing。 Even tho absolutely nothing was😂 There was romance, magic and mystery。 It was a perfect mix and blend of it all。 At first I thought it was gonna be an enemies to lovers with Nico and Libby。 However, it turned out that it would be Tristan and Libby。 I wasn’t expecting it at first。 Until he held her up after they beat the other medians and assassins。 But idm them together。 At first I wasn’t keen on Ezra。 I find it cute that even tho he wasn’t supposed to like Libby in a way, he still missed her。 He was just meant to keep an eye on her but ended up together with her。 But it’s mad that Ezra is like 40 ish and used to be in the society himself。 Confused as to what Atlas is doing。 I have a love but mostly hate relationship with Parisa。 I like that she is an independent woman who doesn’t give a fuck。 But she’s still annoying。 Callum annoys me when he’s being ignorant about Libby。 However, it’s mad that him and Tristan r doing a thing。 I like Reina。 Not much else to say there。 She’s got cool abilities。 No complaints about her。 As much as I like Libby, why does she ask so many questions😂。 I like the magical part of this book。 It’s carried out really well。 Rather than just the normal, cliché magic。 Blake has incorporated science behind everything which gives a reason behind certain things。 I like Dalton。 Seems leng😂 Him and Parisa r cute ngl。 But it’s a very manipulative relationship tho🤷🏻‍♀️。 Anyways, all in all it was a really good book and a very good read。 。。。more

not many times booktok is right but this was 100% spot on。the characters in this book are just so beautifully written。the depth they each have and the chemistry between them is one of a kind。if you are a person who reads mainly because of the plot this might not be for you since it’s not really plot driven。but if you are like me, and you need characters with depth in wich you can lose yourself。。this is for you!

This was a solid 3。5ish stars for me, so I'm rounding it up。 I heard a lot of buzz about The Atlas Six。 I was really looking forward to reading the novel。 Was I disappointed? Not really。 Was I in love with the book? Why are they doing this? Why can't they try to fight what is supposed to happen? Why does it have to happen? Again, I had a lot of whys。 Some of this was summed up in the last few chapters of the book, but I'm hoping that more is answered in the sequel。 In addition to my inability to really connect to any of the characters, I found that a lot of information is told to readers rather than shown。 While this isn't a deal breaker, I am one of those readers who likes to be shown plot points and backgrounds so I can develop my own interpretation of what is happening。 Will I read the next in the series? Probably。 I feel that a lot of the issues I had may be due to this being a first book in the series。 I still have a lot of why questions needing to be answered。 I am intrigued。 。。。more

4。5 This is every bit of excellent I expected, wonderful book with very much the energy of books I loved like it。 I will say, it felt like two novels in one at one point, which broke it a bit for me。 But this is still fantastic, Parisa and Nico can have me。

The book was imaginative and the characters well written with my favourites being Libby, Nico (no, not just because of his name 😉) and Reina。 ⚔️ The book was relatively fast paced to begin with and this only increased the further in you got。 I also really enjoyed the various character perspectives which were always quite insightful into each characters personality。 🧿 I also LOVED the illustrations within the book which I will let you find for yourselves。 I cannot wait to see what my Fairyloot & Illumicrate editions will look like in the flesh given the standard copy is so gorgeous! 🌱 Now if the next book in the series could hurry along (late October is so far away) so I don’t have a torturous wait to find out what happens next, that would be AMAZING!#TheAtlasSix #KnowledgeIsCarnage #UKTor #ReadAndReview #BookReview #Bookstagram #Bookish #PrettyBooks #AmReading 。。。more
